Sunday Dance with Somatic Lab
1-3 PM Third Sundays of each month
at The Studio at the Paonia Laundromat, 604 2nd Street.
Ecstatic-style dance with Amber unless noted otherwise. Opening will include a Somatic Lab exercise led by a guest facilitator:
October 18: Elemental Meditation: Earth, Air, Fire, Water with Leah Bee!
November 15: Butoh Imagery with Christine Palafox
December 20: Solstice Movement with Sarsa Buck
Arrive at 1 pm to warm up, stretch, and gently settle into the space. Opening circle 10-15 minutes in and closing circle after the music. An hour-long eclectic recorded music wave provided for your movement journey. This community dance space is inspired by the Ecstatic Dance and 5 Rhythms movements. It does not have to look like dance, nor does it have to be ecstatic. Come as you are; leave transformed.
Dress comfortably, bring a full water bottle. Better to arrive late than not at all. Please leave your phone behind.
All humans are welcome! Age 12 and under please bring an adult with you. 16 and under no charge.
$5-$20 requested donation. (Aim for the middle: 10-15 regular, 16-20 supporting, 5-9 low income). First dance is free.

Our dreams connect us in mysterious ways and can point the way to deeper wisdom. Communities who dream together and share dreams regularly may find healing through this profoundly simple fireside practice.
We will employ a simple, egalitarian method for exploring dream content. Please come with an open mind and willingness to try something (possibly) different. By donation at this time.

Women's Grief & Release Circle
This is forming as a monthly closed circle for women who hold space for others, for Women leaders and community organizers to have a space to be held and tend to our grief and other emotions. Could we be kindly and tenderly present with the parts of ourselves that are asking for our loving attention? What is ready to be witnessed and gently held in process? What is ready to be acknowledged and let go?

Sing to the River
Mondays at 10 AM
The river is listening...
Meet at the Paonia River Park just down the boat ramp from the east end of the parking lot.
Organized by Amber for participatory leadership. Bring a song to share or not. Dress for the weather and bring water and food as needed. Just for fun, wear something blue!
This came about in response to a part of our watershed being slated to be piped, and the feeling that the land was grieving the loss of that water to the ecosystem. I heard the river asking to "gather people to sing to the river."
Community Garden Evenings at Mariposa

Hosted by Mariposa Ascendente. These evenings are an opportunity for us to gather, connect, and cultivate our relationships to the land and each other. Sometimes we may simply be weeding and mulching, while at other times we may have a theme, or someone may have an educational offering.

The Ash Circle is based on a West African (Dagara) conflict resolution ritual modeled by Sobonfu Somé. In my experience everyone in atttendance, whether participating or witnessing, comes away with deepened insight and connection.

In ritual we seek support to release our stories and move through pain into more life.
